It's going to be a quiet few days here at Medigarments headquarters as many of our staff members will be attending and exhibiting at Neuro Convention 2023. The event, which is the only one of its kind in the whole of Europe, is aimed at professionals working in neurology and neuroscience and exists to aid in the improvement of patient outcomes across the board.
Neuro Convention focuses on a number of specialist fields in the sector of neurology, including brain/spinal injuries, rehabilitation, mental health and diagnostics. Delegates from Medigarments are looking forward to attending many of the 50+ CPD-accredited seminars that comprise the main feature of the unique event. Confirmed speakers include:
- Fausto Panizzolo. A recipient of MSc and PhD degrees (in Biomedical Engineering and Biomechanics & Motor Control respectively), Fausto is now a Professor of Movement Analysis at Italy's Padova University. He is also the CEO of Moveo, which is a company which designs and produces soft exoskeletons for lower limbs. His seminar will focus on how artificial exoskeletons can assist in walking.
- Clare Nicholson. As a specialist in the complex field of Occupational Therapy, Clare has been working for more than a decade at London's National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. The topic of Clare's seminar will be rehabilitation for functional neurological disorders.
- Wagih El Masri. In 1982, Wagih became the first person to obtain accreditation in Spinal Injuries and General Surgery from the RCS. Since that time, he has personally treated more than 10,000 patients with spinal injuries and has published over 145 manuscripts on various related subjects. Now the Emeritus Consultant Surgeon in Spinal Injuries at the Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry, Wagih has previously held the positions of Chairman of the British Association of Spinal Cord Injury Specialists and President of the International Spinal Cord Society. Wagih will be hosting two seminars on the subject of traumatic spinal cord injury.
