Designed to provide clinically effective pressure while being comfortable to wear, such pressure therapy garments have been proven time and time again to be the solution of choice.

The hot summertime weather can be extremely uncomfortable, giving us the urge to wear as little as possible. If you have a pressure garment to wear during the warmer season, we cannot stress enough how important it is to NOT give in to this temptation. The garment should be worn according to your clinician's instructions and for the prescribed duration.

To begin with, you must be fitted correctly for your garment to ensure comfort when worn. If anything doesn't feel right then be sure to tell your clinician. An incorrect fit will become uncomfortable, impact the garment's effectiveness, and could even cause more health problems than it solves.

Choosing your ordinary clothes wisely is another way to help you feel more comfortable wearing pressure garments during warm weather. Look for loose, flowing garments that allow air to circulate and avoid any tight clothing or itchy fabrics. Garments made from natural materials like cotton, are preferable as they will help you to feel cooler. Natural materials are also better at wicking moisture away from your skin.

If your clinician has advised that you wear your pressure garment while sleeping, ensure your bedroom is cool and comfortable; purchasing a fan or air conditioning unit is preferable to leaving a window open, and switching your duvet and blankets to a thin cotton sheet helps limit discomfort and overheating.

It's also important to keep your pressure garments clean, which you may have to do more often during periods of hotter weather. You should always follow the washing instructions (which you can find on the Medigarmentd Ltd website) to the letter. Note that garments from our leading Jobskin® Premium and Jobskin® Classic collections must be allowed to dry naturally; as this can take some time, it is often better to have two such garments so that you can wear one while the other is being cleaned and dried.
