Sensory Dynamic Orthosis - SDO® Original Shorts - above knee    

SDO^® Original is a made-to-measure Lycra^® garment (Class 1) medical device, that can be supplied with open or closed crotch, and as high waisted with or without shoulder straps. SDO^® Original Shorts above knee can be used to increase cutaneous and proprioceptive feedback and to assist with musculoskeletal management of the hips. The SDO^® Original Shorts is a completely bespoke garment. Choosing and selecting from our complete range of reinforcement panels, combined with the garment option and chosen theme, the the desired result is achieved.

The anticipated response may include: 

• Pelvic stability
• Improved lower limb posture and stability
• Reduce external/­internal hip rotation
• Improved muscle function
• Increased proprioception
• Improved hip and knee alignment

Silicone edging – if required, must be requested at time of ordering. The silicone edging can be placed at the distal end of the garment. The silicone edging adds comfort and reduces ‘riding up’.

Zip placement – can be at the front, side or inside or outside of the legs. Please consider which hand the patient/client is able to use as this will influence the position of the zip to enhance independence.
